Both Matt Wilson and Matt Hobden are First Degree Choi Kwang Do Black Belts. They started their teaching careers on the Choi Kwang Do Assistant Instructor Programme and were promoted to Head Instructors under Choi Kwang Do Martial Art International in 2006. Along with other instructors in the UK, they attend regular instructor coaching sessions to continually develop their knowledge, techniques and teaching skills.
Our Instructors are first aid trained and, along with our Assistant Instructors have undergone a CRB Police background check.

My Daughter started Choi Kwang Do four years ago. Seeing the benefits it brought to her, I was encouraged to join. No two classes are the same, whereas when I was a member of the local gym, I did the same workout four times a week for seven years! Each class brings new skills, techniques and the opportunity to meet and train with different people. I thoroughly enjoy my training and look forward to classes. I am much fitter, more confident and have learnt invaluable self defence skills.

I started Choi Kwang Do 3 months after the birth of my son. I was very shy when I went to the first class but everyone was so welcoming. I lost my baby weight really quickly, without even noticing, and I am physically much stronger and fitter than ever. In less than a year I’ve progressed through the belts and am so proud to be an assistant instructor helping other people in the class. I have made some good friends and I make sure I never miss a class (unlike when I went to the gym!).
