Head Instructor - I started Choi Kwang Do in April 2007. Ultimately the biggest joy Choi Kwang Do has given me is the chance to teach. Helping and encouraging others to achieve their dreams of confidence, optimum health and personal success has been very satisfying and a boost of self confidence.

Head Instructor - Having been a practitioner of Choi for a considerable time, I have found it to be a very fascinating and affective form of self defence. Choi uses drills and techniques that ‘’home’’ in on your natural instincts and reactions to protect yourself, building confidence in the process. The belt systems, helps develop a person, both physically and mentally and is suited for all ages and genders, but one of the most important philosophies of Choi is to enjoy yourself, regardless of age.

I started Choi Kwang Do 3 months after the birth of my son. I was very shy when I went to the first class but everyone was so welcoming. I lost my baby weight really quickly, without even noticing, and I am physically much stronger and fitter than ever. In less than a year I’ve progressed through the belts and am so proud to be an assistant instructor helping other people in the class. I have made some good friends and I make sure I never miss a class (unlike when I went to the gym!).

Walking into any martial arts class for the first time can be daunting, but when I began Choi everyone was so welcoming and friendly I soon felt at ease and got stuck into learning the techniques. It’s a non-competitive art, creating a supportive environment to progress and make friends, its really satisfying getting through the belts and learning new skills – your brain definitely gets a workout as well!

I have been learning Choi Kwang Do for the last 2 years and am very proud to be promoted recently to Assistant Instructor having completed the Advanced Training programme.  Choi Kwang Do has really improved my fitness and self defence skills and I enjoy working with the other Instructors.  I am currently working towards my black belt test which should hopefully be early next year!

I have been an Assistant Instructor for the last 18 months and very much enjoy my Choi Kwang Do classes.  The martial art is easy to learn and has improved my fitness levels and self defence skills.  I enjoy taking an active part in classes and assisting new and junior students where possible.  The Choi Foundation is a well run and friendly school and I am proud to be an Assistant Instructor.
